Better in All Categories

I woke up on October 1st thinking, “Where did the year go? How is it already Fall?” We are going to blink and the holiday season is going to start.

Time flies, but how did I spend it? Time is the most valuable asset that we have. You can’t buy it, you can’t sell it, you can’t trade it.

Time is valuable, so I want to use it and track it the same way I would anything else I value. I’ve noticed I allow certain things to take up my time and energy that don’t necessarily deserve it.

We’ve let social media, our problems, our worries, our jobs and so much more take from our time.

Think about it this way, if you ever saw a charge that you didn’t make on your bank account, you would call so fast to inquire. It’s because we value our money. In the same token, why do we allow unauthorized transactions of our time? Distractions have caused me to miss moments but I want to take it all back.

For October, I’m believing it’s going to be my most focused month. The thought that I woke up with is “better in all categories”.

Stop — take inventory of all the areas in your life. Even if in each area you got 1% better, that would be one percent more than last month.

My goal is to be better in all categories this month. I want to eat better, I want to read more, I want to pray more, I want to be on social media less (can I get an amen?).

I’m declaring better for all of October.

One Verse

“Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.”

Job 8:7 NIV

One Thought From Me

Make a strategic plan to get better. Create a schedule, make a grocery list, commit to taking time off of social media, block off time to plan for the future. Even if it’s one thing, do something this month to get better.

Prayer

God help me to partner with you this month to get better. Every time I try to do it in my own strength I fall short. Show me the areas I need to improve. Help me to get better in my living, my loving, my day to day. Help me to get better in all categories.

Amen.
