Singleness is a Piece of Cake

Let’s talk about singleness—not just from the surface, but from a kingdom perspective. Too often, singleness is seen as a waiting room, a season we rush through to get to what’s “next.” But what if we saw it for what it truly is—a time to grow, build, and become?

Like a cake, life has layers. Singleness is just one slice, not the whole thing. It’s not a punishment, a setback, or a limitation—it’s a piece of cake. It’s layered and everyone has their own slice.

The Right Ingredients Matter

2 Peter 1:5-7 gives us a recipe for growth—faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, and love. Love isn’t just something you fall into; it’s something you grow into. And just like baking, you can’t substitute the ingredients and expect the same results.

Faith can’t be replaced by fear.

Self-control can’t be swapped for self-satisfaction.

Love isn’t the same as lust.

Don’t Lower the Bar

We live in a culture where waiting is old-fashioned, commitment is optional, and sacrifice feels like too much. But God’s standards protect, not restrict.

I believe we can be a generation that lives up to God’s standard. As we do, kingdom marriages will emerge. We don’t have to wish for a new season we can pray for it.

This is a great season to pray for what you desire:

Prayer Prompts

  1. Prayer for Alignment with God’s Will (Romans 12:1-2)

  2. Prayer for Divine Connection and Guidance in Finding a Mate (Genesis 2:18)

  3. Prayer Against Shame, Rejection, and Guilt (Isaiah 54:4-5)

  4. Prayer for Clarity and Direction (Isaiah 30:21)

  5. Prayer for A Kingdom Marriage (Ephesians 5:31-32)

  6. Prayer for Purity and Holiness in Preparation (Psalm 119:9)

  7. Prayer for God’s Timing (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Declarations Over Your Future

  1. I will marry well (Proverbs 18:22)

  2. There will be no more delay (Ezekiel 12:28)

  3. I will walk in godliness (2 Peter 1:3-7)

  4. My partner and I will fulfill God’s purpose (Amos 3:3)

  5. God’s favor is upon my life (Proverbs 3:3-4)

  6. None will be without their mate (Isaiah 34:16)

  7. I will be called Beulah & Hephzibah (Isaiah 62:4-5)

One Thought:

Every season, we must live in the tension of present and prepared

One Verse:

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33
