November Prayer Challenge: Seeking God with Specificity

As I woke up on November 1st, I felt a burden not just to pray but to encourage others to pray as well. As we enter into November, we have an invitation to seek the Lord in a focused, diligent way. This month, let’s set the tone with intentional, specific prayers. Specific prayers lead to specific answers—when we pray with focus, we allow God’s guidance, protection, and blessings to work in every area of our lives. Don’t just let November happen—embrace this month with purposeful prayer!

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you on what areas to focus on in prayer this month. Here are some suggestions:

1. Prayer for Help

"Lord, be my help in every situation I face this month. Strengthen me in my need."
Scripture: “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:2 NIV)

2. Prayer for Favor

"Father, surround me with favor this November. Open doors that no one can close."
Scripture: “Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” (Psalm 5:12 NIV)

3. Prayer for Direction

"Lord, guide my steps and show me the right path. Help me make wise decisions."
Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)

4. Prayer for Protection

"Lord, keep me and my family safe from harm. Be our shield and refuge."
Scripture: “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (Psalm 91:4 NIV)

5. Prayer for Breakthrough

"Lord, I ask for breakthroughs in every area of my life where there’s resistance. Move powerfully to break down barriers and release Your blessings!"
Scripture: “Then I will say to my soul, ‘Don’t be discouraged; don’t be disturbed, for I fully expect my Savior-God to break through for me. Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again.’ Yes, he is my saving grace!” (Psalm 43:5 TPT)

6. Intercession for Others

"Lord, I lift up our country, my loved ones, leaders, and all those in need. Surround them with Your love and protection."
Scripture: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2 NIV)

Tips for Diligent Prayer

Here are a few ways to deepen your prayer life this month:

  • Set a dedicated time daily: Make it a non-negotiable appointment with God.

  • Read and memorize scripture: Let His Word shape your prayers and your heart.

  • Keep a prayer journal: Writing down requests and answered prayers builds faith and reminds you of God’s faithfulness.

Commit to Purposeful Prayer

Don’t let this month go by without intentionality. Dedicate November to specific, powerful prayers, and watch as God moves in your life. Invite friends to be on this journey together, and challenge those around you to deepen their level of prayer.

One Thought:
